Job Overview
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Structure: Two-storey detached house with a built-in garage
Problem: Early-morning attic noises consistent with squirrel activity; inspection confirmed two separate entry points
Service: Squirrel removal and exclusion
Visits: 2
Summary
Our team completed a two-visit squirrel removal service after attic noises were reported. Inspection identified two independent entry points being used by squirrels. One-way doors were installed to allow animals to exit safely, followed by permanent sealing once activity ceased. No further activity was reported after completion.
Background / Property Context
The property is a two-storey detached home with multiple roofline transitions, a built-in garage, and exterior features that create common wildlife access points. Roof vents, drip edges, and foundation interfaces were present and required close inspection.
Customer Concern
The homeowner reported repeated sounds in the attic during early morning hours, raising concern about active squirrels entering the roof space.
Inspection & Findings
Our inspection identified two active entry areas:
- A roofline opening at the corner of the drip edge where an existing gap appeared to have been expanded.
- A foundation-level gap consistent with burrowing activity that provided secondary access.
Additional sensitive areas were noted, including a plumbing vent and a soffit intersection that required monitoring.

Cause Analysis
Squirrels commonly exploit weak points along roof edges and foundation transitions, especially where materials have aged or shifted. Elevated rooflines and nearby structures can provide easy access. Once a viable opening is found, repeated use can enlarge the entry point over time.
Treatment / Removal
During the first visit, humane, non-lethal one-way doors were installed at both identified entry points to allow squirrels to exit without re-entry. The plumbing vent on the roof was also sealed to prevent future access. All work was completed safely and in accordance with accepted wildlife control practices.
Exclusion & Repairs
After a monitoring period confirmed no further activity, the second visit focused on permanent exclusion. The one-way doors were removed, and both entry points were sealed using wildlife-grade materials. Screened protection was installed where appropriate to reinforce vulnerable areas, including roof and foundation interfaces.

Outcome & Confirmation
At the final visit, the homeowner reported no additional noises or signs of activity. All one-way doors had been removed, exclusions were inspected, and the structure showed no evidence of continued squirrel access.

Technician Notes
Ardian completed both visits, identifying and addressing multiple access points. Photos taken during the service show installed one-way doors at the roofline and foundation, screened protection around vents, and sealed repairs following door removal. Work areas were accessible and conditions allowed for full completion as planned.
