Inspection & Findings
During the initial visit, our technician inspected both the attic interior and the exterior roofline. Evidence observed in the attic was consistent with mouse activity. Exterior inspection identified several accessible openings along the roof area, including vents and soffit-adjacent gaps that could allow mice to enter the attic.
Cause Analysis
Mice are capable climbers and can access rooflines using nearby structures or exterior features. Small gaps around roof vents, plumbing penetrations, and soffit transitions can provide entry into attic spaces. Once inside, attic insulation offers warmth and shelter, supporting ongoing activity.
Treatment / Removal
A licensed exterminator performed a mouse treatment in accordance with Ontario Ministry of the Environment guidelines. Tamper-resistant bait stations containing commercial-grade rodenticide were placed in areas of high attic activity. The treatment was designed to reduce the active population within the attic space.
Exclusion & Repairs
Exterior inspection identified multiple potential entry points on the roof and soffit areas. Exclusion options were discussed with the homeowner; however, they chose not to proceed with exclusion work at that time.
Outcome & Confirmation
At the follow-up visit, the homeowner reported no further sounds or signs of activity in the attic. No new issues were noted, and the customer confirmed they were satisfied with the outcome of the service.
